Although the two men of the Black Keys have allegedly played each other already in the sandbox: Brothers are not, any more than Jack's brother Meg is ... The White Stripes they have already been frequently compared, due to the parallels in the occupation ( only guitar and drums), in the style of music (due an earthy mix of delta blues and garage rock) and in the Mission (who grew up with hip-hop youth of the early 21st century to the roots of black American music). The funny dino videos on YouTube and the original design of the cover (especially the back - who finds the error) and after the first time but not quite black CD are luckily the only follies in this latest work of the Black Keys. Danger Mouse had time only for a song fingers with it (Tighten Up - sounds pretty Motown and has strong hit potential) - Again, I tend to "fortunately". Otherwise, as usual, no-bullshit Blues of the finest quality. The 8-track nostalgics have to live with the fact that the times of Thickfreakness sounds are gone. The production has become more professional. The arrangements are not quite as dirty as in the early years, the stark minimalism is no longer there. But the Black Keys still remain true to himself. And the level of songs that kidnap an in the 60s and 70s, is high from start to finish. Who is more to the powerful things is "Next Girl", the already mentioned "Tighten Up" and like the peppy "Howlin 'For You". Who rather like quiet numbers which will melt the soulful "The Only One" or the romantic "Never Gonna Give You Up". But: Really every single song is a gem - impossible to nominate a favorite.
