Now for No Comfort:
1. on my device the display lights very bright and the contrast is too high, you can see all the non-activated pixels
2. I have found in OS X is no way to test or perform an update the firmware
Both points and then some could reportedly be fixed in the device manager comfortable, but this is the manufacturer of OS X does not apologize. Thus, OS X users can use only a subset of the features, although it is listed according to packing under the System 'OS X'. All these have I sent in a Support Request to manufacturer:
Answer:
"The specification for system requirements related to the driver support. This is given for OSX.
Device Manager is only available for Windows, so you will need for these settings and firmware updates a Windows machine. "
It is incomprehensible to me that the high-priced convenience reader is fully supported only for an operating system.
More star's only if I can benefit from the convenience of the reader 100% on OS X.
UPDATE:
I've got me a Windows computer :-) and started the device manager and lo and behold:
Comfort without end:
- You can adjust the brightness and the contrast so that the display is reasonable to read
- A timeout for the backlight can be adjusted
- A sound output can be adjusted
- The Device Manager has also displayed an updated firmware and installed on the reader
- You can view the versions of basic modules (kernel module, Secoder2, certificate store) and updating
When module 'certificate store' should be noted that the certificates are limited in time and it is therefore necessary to periodically update this module, that I would have regularly on a Windows computer!
Too bad the 'REINER SCT' this convenience to OS X users not available to them.
2015-05-22 UPDATE after one year
Device works great, but unfortunately still no device manager for OS X users!
