The Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After a long, long wait, fans of Connie Francis may once again enjoy a very special CD; three CDs, to be exact. This here "Connie Ultimate Set" is finally no greatest hits collection with overused songs like "Stupid Cupid," "Lipstick on Your Collar" or "Who's Sorry Now?". Instead you concentrate on the unknown Connie Francis, ie bringing songs that were hidden mainly on albums in its first public presentation in the '60s.
What this set so special is the abundance of CD-premieres. On recordings such as "A Lifetime of Love" from the album "Connie Francis Sings the Songs of Les Reed" from 1969, "Like Someone In Love" from the album "A New Kind of Connie" from 1964 and "The Good Life" and "Call Me Irresponsible" from "Movie Greats of the 60's" of 1966, the fans have been waiting in vain. Other songs like "My Foolish Heart" from the album "Jealous Heart" from 1966 or "Danny Boy" from "Connie Francis Sings Irish Favorites" from 1962 are indeed already appeared elsewhere on CD, but not so often encounter the listener as the typical Greatest Hits and therefore liked to hear at this point.
Overall, this box is intended primarily for those fans whose interest the albums by Connie applies, which lay contrary to the clearly on commercialism interested Singles value on künstlerischenn claim. For me personally one of the best releases of the past five years.
