I myself am or was the greatest Norton critics at all.
The series 2004-2006 came to me because of the performance just is not in question. I myself was last year GDATA 2006 users, (which was a very weak program) and have looked at many popular internet security programs, and also tested.
The result is that the Norton Internet Security was clearly the best.
I would like to have a little time pro and con list:
Pro:
- Needs little performance, even asking if a complex program is started, if it is not to free some memory!
- Is very fast in the virus check: What took at GData, 2006 3 hours going on here in a 3/4 hour. (Come on disk size and volume of the existing files)
- To have very low, at least on Amazon. GDATA2006 cost me in Publication 70 !! Norton only 40 ...
- No annoying error messages or irgentwelche conflicts with other programs like Hamachi (network connection via Inet with other computers)
- Very user friendly! It warns discreetly if something is wrong, and is easy to use even for the Configuration haters. The
intelligent firewall does everything by itself.
- In contrast to a previous reviewer I have to say that Norton 2007 at least a significantly higher detection rate than the 2006 version of GData. This has namely so-called. TrackingCookies not recognized.
Even otherwise Norton is very accurate in work.
- Normalo users leave the NIS care of everything for them, professionals and security fetishists [; )] But can also configure Norton that it decides to nothing himself and asks for each action.
- During the virus scan, you can work undisturbed. During an update download process, there were no major disturbances. (I as online gamblers it would probably know.)
Cons:
- Now comes: In 3 weeks I have received 2 error messages.
It was a Runtime Error. Norton ran but continue as normal and did not interfere. That's it. In contrast to the 2006 version of GDATA a dream ...
Furthermore, I would also like to say something to one of the previous speakers, who said there is no spam filter in this Internet security kit.
Spam filters are
1. useless as spam emails still to cheat their way.
2. anyway integrated into any email service.
Also I have to say that Norton has this "shortcoming" eliminated and it is now free to Abbonement (what they take out automatically with the purchase of NIS for 1 year) has provided an extension is available to prevent the spam in your email box.
Thus, the rating of 1 star is not justified.
Conclusion: If you want a good security program for his computer, can go wrong with this at all. And that says a former Norton critics.
