With the band Project Margin (to German: edge, border), he seems to have fulfilled an old dream to emulate the musical heroes of his childhood and youth. Are repeatedly mentioned in the reviews in this context, Pink Floyd. And yes, of course, this influence is there, from the flat, leisurely wandering along guitar and keyboard parts to lyrics like 'A Saucerful Of Secrets sounds from deep to unknown ground' and 'Some Saucerful of Secrets fly into Discovery'. So apparently seems to be Floyd-favorite album A Saucerful Of Secrets 1968 Meinert, but what can be heard in his own music only rudimentary.
But PSYCHEDELIC TEATIME is much more than just a Reminszenz to the greatest of all Artrockbands, because in addition to the well, but not limited to Pink Floyd-oriented "A Mysterious Cup of Tea" (23:28 minutes) there is the very catchy "Psychedelic Underground - The Short Trip "(3:36) and its equally interesting long version (10:38), in which not only Meinerts voice almost amazingly similar to the great English Duration insider Paul Roland.
Furthermore Meinert spins in the instrumental "Last Exit to Pluto" (10:41) after a quiet beginning sounds between highly digestible Krautrock and more acceptable sound of bands like Hawkwind, and finally there's the acoustic-cozy "Landscapes on the Sky" (8:05), the whole person is a gentle highlight of the album for me.
Lutz Meinert has here taken up almost anything on their own, but musically by Arne Spekat (acoustic guitars) and Carola Meinert is accompanied (his wife or his daughter?) Who sings a little background.
Meinerts English song is indeed from the debate here is not as bad as that of Frank Bornemann (Eloy), because he has mastered at least the 'th' ('tii äitsch'), may nevertheless be in the formation of words like 'Visions' 'comfortably' and others before rolling up the toenails of the listener. But what the heck: If Sweden or even French sing English, eventually hardly anyone upset on it. ;-)
PSYCHEDELIC TEATIME is a loving, powerful and transparent produced, very melodic Artrockalbum which usually proceeds at a leisurely pace and then, very rarely to actually exceeds the limits 'psychedelic' or even oblique sounds. I bet that no one who feels attracted by 70s art rock, this album is not at least like or how I will even love.
