No reason for mistrust

I'm not a fan of Country- or even bluegrass music, and when I first heard of this album, which was recorded by the American country and bluegrass icon Emmylou Harris along with my old guitar hero Mark Knopfler, I was more than just suspicious. Knopler himself had worked to my displeasure on the last Dire Straits album ON EVERY STREET and some of his solo albums with country influences, so I was even more suspicious.

Of course, in this transatlantic cooperation some songs came together that could only be described to a certain degree as country music, but primarily this is simply an album full of wonderfully composed, music and vocals; This also produced and arranged still masterful.

"I Dug Up A Diamond" (what a striving for eternity tune !!), "Rollin 'On" (almost of the same quality!), "All the Road Running" and "If This Is Goodbye" drove me smooth the tears of joy in his eyes, while "This Is Us" and "Right Now" offering 'perfect, radio-friendly Popsingles. All in all, it was at the end not a single song that really bugged me properly.

I was surprised, almost enchanted, and my initial distrust dissolved quickly in pure country air. Let us convince you of Knopfler / Harris!
