This offers not only a crisp, violently rocking sound, but above all by the compositions. Often poppy and catchy come the therefore, always provided with good hooks, but never chumming. The opener, Stacked Actors' sounds even on bulky and a bit like a leftover from Nirvana days, although it is a typical Foo Fighters song. Songs like, Breakout ', Learn To Fly' and especially the great, Generator '(note how cleverly here during the Strophhen the refrain about the guitar riff is already anticipated) but have nothing to do with Nirvana. Because you can feel a touch of Arena Rock, ultimately, it is a constant Eigent sound - perhaps the most seductive alternative rock sound of the 90s.
In the second half you get off the throttle, although a bit down - even conciliatory sounds, Is not It The Life ', with, Next Year' you can feel almost a hint of folk - but not on the quality of songwriting.
An entertaining, great rock album that is. Grohl's understated vocals ensures that the songs never seem to testosterone soaked and you can feel with every note just the fun of rock.
Probably the best album of the band and one that even more than a decade after its release because of its quality from the mass of releases Alternative Rock still stands out - because it just will not wear off.
