No XOXO II, but still good

Stupid thing to say but I like it really no German hip hop, except maybe a few representatives of the Hamburg School, but that's another story. Otherwise, there was a long time nothing really exciting. Casper was with his XOXO an exception, the bearded Schlacks brought again a completely new quality to the mike, the texts intelligently, moody and poetic, the music in Crossover tension between electronic beats and indie rock in very good hands.

Hinterland even try not to copy XOXO. One must therefore also no longer even ask if you really like hip-hop because it is not much included. Casper dare quite a change in direction, away from electronic beats, towards opulent slightly folky indie pop a la Arcade Fire, with all kinds of natural instruments such as horns and piano. The Kurpfälzer prodigy Konstantin Gropper (Get Well Soon) as a producer shows a distinct handwriting here. The new songs have quite a sonic breadth. So a simple conclusion: very beautiful album of an interesting courageous artist. However, if you expect a continuation of the success XOXO, should only have a quiet pre-listening. The new style does not necessarily please everyone, which also XOXO liked, and that was, after all, quite a few.
