The book comes in a beautiful hardback cover and is decorated with both pencil drawings as well with colored full-page print: all in all, a very noble book.
Of the 329 pages less 30 pages introduction and 70 pages Appendix remain only 230 pages story left - less than for "The Hobbit".
And this is also my main gripe with this book, there is no real story but only the transcript of a legend, from and to seasoned with a bit of dialogue. At least it's more vivid than "The Silmarillion" and could me in spite of superficial reporting style temporarily to captivate.
Who not formulated novel but only a forecast expected at the language Tolkien (English version is required!) Can enjoy, or has been "The Silmarillon" liked will be very happy with the book.
All others should consider the purchase, a lot of reading you do not get to the high price, unfortunately.
