Not bad at unproblematic Templates

I could compare this with a scanner Plustek 7600iSE. Both devices have advantages and disadvantages, which I was the picture quality is most important. And cuts this scanner from only conditionally good.

You can actually say anything, because it is not a scanner but actually a camera, in which the slide is illuminated from below and the camera sensor records the image on the pace. With normal scanning technology this device has nothing to do (just sounds better when it is said to slide scanner).

Since the Plustek is of course much, much slower. Especially if you type a lot of image enhancement parameters. Then it can take up to 15 minutes before until the image is scanned.

If the presentation (slide) is very good and not very bright or dark areas are scanned (for. Ex. The beach, mountains, nature), then the result of DNT is very good. Only through a lot of manual work which scans the Plustek be so much better that you can see it.

If, however, was photographed against the light, it can be seen in the DNT in this area almost nothing, everything is overshadowed. The scan of the Plustek with SilverFast brings out the slide all the information out very well. Also dust and scratches are removed well. In dark areas it is similar:

I have a photo of a boat whose white lettering is reflected in the water. As the sun was placed in front of the boat, the font in the shade is difficult to detect (Original). The photo was taken in SW.

When DNT the shadow is dark and without large structures, the font can not be seen. When Plustek, however, the curling of the waves and the reflective writing in the water can be seen clearly.

Do not get me wrong. If I had not had the Plustek for comparison, this photo would have fallen off the boat very well in the harbor me. But the best is the good of his death. And so you can clearly see the difference when you put two photos side by side.

That's why I come to the result that the device gives good results when the material (slide film) is very good. However, when it comes quality and you want more options, you can not avoid a real scanner.
