I do not know whether it 40 is always the case with LG L, but in which I bought the volume was too low. More precisely, I could barely hear caller, sometimes they do not. The keyboard was a problem - including writing of text messages. I sometimes come on the side button when I tap a desired letter and my fingers are narrow. I can imagine that it is almost impossible with broad fingertips to tap a text without typing neighboring letters.
