Not for purists, but refreshingly different!

Since I do not count to the Westlife purists, for only the plates of 78-81 and "Hallelujah" are good, I can be a lot to do with the works of 82-87. I find this time with Westlife interesting than the nineties. "The sun so red", a very brave plate, I liked from the first listen to (which was with me 1987/88). I think the mix of rock verbratzten guitars (mostly trios of claw Krawinkel, who already in "The heart of a boxer" his tracks left) class, electronic sounds and the frequent cool vocals. The plate has pace and is in spite of the many synth parts a good rock album, unless we mean by rock only 2 guitars, bass and drums.

The version of the Brecht / Weill's classic is interesting and managed entry to "Baby" is really good, and then it continues in good fairway. Even textually Westlife here has something to say. I especially like "wings", "ogre", "No Time", "So many people," the first two, "I am a man" and "pay cash".

Besides music, I also always been very committed to packaging the plate. After all these years this disc is still one of my favorite Westlife. The negative critique, express the many people on the disc I do not agree totally! The development about "The Heart of a Boxer" and "Geiler is already" is "as the sun red" continued with consistent and succeeded.
