Installation and Operation:
Basically quite simple and likely to accomplish by any layman immediately.
The transmitter is connected by HDMI cable to the player device. This can be a Blu Ray player or
also be a notebook etc.. In principle, everything can be connected which has an HDMI output.
For example, consider a Blu Ray player.
So we want a signal to another TV give only without dismantle and to connect the player. As already mentioned, we need to connect the supplied HDMI cable to the transmitter and the output of the player here. Now, most Blu Ray Players, however, have only one exit and one has taken into account the same with this device.
If the player is otherwise usually connected to another TV, you constantly have to change the cable to either the one or the other to watch TV. The omitted here, since the transmitter has additionally via an HDMI output. Thus, you simply clamp the TV, which is otherwise permanently connected to the player simply back to the output and thus requires no additional diverter or similar. The signal is simply looped through and can be sent simultaneously.
Great Thing.
Incidentally, both devices feature input or via two HDMI. Outputs. So you could, for example, connect a player and a notebook at the same time. The channel change is then carried out either manually by pressing a button on the device or using the supplied remote.
Transmission:
On an additional sheet that was sent with, it should be noted that these devices were even tested to a distance of 50m (in the product description of what to read from 30m).
That may certainly agree if anything, so nothing except air between transmitter and receiver is present. But where this is already the case?
I have tested it on a distance of 20m with two concrete walls in between.
And I can attest that the signal has been transmitted without interference over 6 consecutive hours.
It will image the extent technically all signals to 3D processed without objection.
Only the sound we have to contend with one caveat. HD audio signals are not transmitted namely with. Dolby Digital, DTS, etc. work, but no problems.
In addition, we have installed a so-called DFS function. This can be automatically a wireless channel to perform the procedures in the event that the selected channel is already occupied or disturbed. This channel transmission also works in the 5GHz range.
Shortly into the USB cables. These are also used for power supply. One would therefore not necessarily use the power adapter as long as the devices are equipped with a USB output. Practically, since you so again saves a few cables.
Conclusion:
With the BenQ WDP01 you get a very decent processed and highly reliable operating, flexible instrument for the transmission of video and audio signals on pretty long reach. Only the price is a bit high. When you consider how much cable you could buy it, but here it comes indeed also important that you remain flexible and that goes with cabling just bad.
Therefore, and due to the lack of HD audio transmission there of me very good 4 star with an upward trend.
