The connection to the existing home entertainment landscape was not a problem. Lan (cable), HDMI for TV and optical for the CD player. The subwoofer has the same connected possibly because it was a warehouse unit and someone has already toiled with the pairing) we come to the section is not well thought out system:
I have the soundbar through the HDMI 1 connected at the LG TV because the ARC port .The problem: There can not be disabled or to Simplink also i'nicht on the soundbar, ie when the soundbar As it turns eventually via the SIMPLINK HDMI 1. This must then be switched back on TV then the sound via ARC is issued. That's annoying. Here I recommend clearly the extent possible, attach the Soundbar only via HDMI off in the Soundbar (for Smart TV), Simplink / arc and feed the TV sound via optical.
DLNA works great, but here turns with each new track change the TV on when the sound bar is connected via HDMI. just when is streamed to the soundbar. And that's really annoying. Even the trick on Power Options Video mute switch is not working. Better to stream to TV and video mute. This works out. But I did not want to harm the TV additionally actually.
At the Soundbar the track duration is displayed by the way. Here, however, the possibility would have been better to display the ID3 tag. But because the TV anyway is to ...
Wireless I have not tried.
Smart TV is just as you would expect from LG. But Watch Ever course not. Can not have the Smart Apps / premium management of Soundbar still via web location (Device Unavailable) Although on the Watch Ever side the device is listed.
All in all, I see much a wasted potential, some of the criticisms might be lost when the TV is not flat by LG. A second optical input would have been in my opinion also not wrong. But this is a general problem of sound bars - the minimimalistischen connectivity.
Furthermore, I can confirm the already mentioned "problems" with the Sound Fields. There is hardly audible changes. Nevertheless, the sound in my opinion is better than the Yamaha one hundred and first
UPDATE: 1/21/2014
I have now decided to return the part. Because of the everlasting turning on the TV, I have the TV now visually connected. Although the results in the desired behavior (TV remains off) and also the automatic switching to the optical input when the TV concerns works, but now I have absolutely the soundbar remote control to use loud and ask quietly UDN that although the TV by LG , That is simply ridiculous in this price range. But as I already said, perhaps the experience with a NON LG Simplink without this often positive. Here's looking at me right now the Pioneer SBX-N700 with Miracast at times.
