I was looking for a simple and rugged trekking sandal, which is also suitable for slightly more endurance hikes. After me variously Teva sandals were recommended, I have the Hurricane 3 tried and unfortunately done for my needs an absolute mistake, because the sandals are obvious, not designed for the loads that brings longer go with them: chafed within a few hours my unpadded straps bloody toe skin. Also in the side area the material scrubs so strong at the base, that there might be bubbles at the latest after a day's ride. As the heel strap does not adapt, it is a matter of luck if he has a good grip of the respective foot shape - for my feet, he was too far, so I went with the heel during uphill walk on the trailing edge. In addition, the soles for rough terrain is too thin and does not provide adequate support. My conclusion: for short trips to the "Wet" or in particular for water, in which anyway usually sits in the boat, these sandals are certainly well suited. For hikes, they are however useless.
Addendum - For hiking clearly better suited likely to Teva Terra Fi, be that solve both main criticisms: Firstly, the straps are padded, on the other hand the sole is considerably more solid and has a better profile. However, I have decided for the Karrimore Aruba that in about the Terra Fi correspond in Design and Equipment and yet cost less than the Hurricane! With this I am so far fully satisfied.
