We like to do "real" raclette, where you really have to scrape the cheese. After the lamp of our old appliance Tefal broke it sought to replace the device. From the reviews this seemed best. It was tested for the first time last week and we were pretty disappointed. The cheese carrier is too small to support a quarter wheel of cheese and cheese is not particularly stable. It is also quite difficult to put a large plate; Its size is only suitable to put a plate of dessert. The relatively upright position that any melted cheese will fall without scraping meaning should always have a small plate under each side of the unit. Finally, this device is quite far from a traditional unit.
