Rick Ross aka The Boss is back with his third album "Deeper Than Rap" is from April 21 in American stores. With "Port of Miami" and "Trilla" he has the bar set high. But since it was announced last year that he worked as a prison guard, is its "Street Credebility" quasi reaches zero. Obviously influenced him musically, because "Deeper Than Rap" offers much more oriented R'n'B sound as both albums before. This is also the feature list: T-Pain, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, John Legend, Magazeen, Nas, Avery Storm, The Dream, Robin Thicke, Foxy Brown, gunplay, Trina and Ne-Yo. Entry is to the gloomy 50 Cent Diss "Mafia Music" very good. They both made so with their Beef in advance for orderly publicity for the album, which Def Jam certainly could save some advertising costs). The productions are all high quality, but bother me personally on this album the many rather slower numbers. This also includes the 2nd single "Magnificent" with John Legend. From Miami feeling the 1st album not much left, a great pity. "Maybach Music 2" and "Yacht Club" also fall into this category. The quality of production is true only are both songs very catchy, but what is very rare in features such as Kanye West and T-Pain. A highlight of the album is undoubtedly "Usual Suspects" with Nas and Kevin Cossom, from The Inkredibles produced. Gorgeous Relax instrumental on which all stakeholders make a good impression. "All I Really Want" feat. The Dream and "Rich Off Cocaine" with Avery Storm remain unfortunately less in the ear, the description R'n'B droning could fit here. Luckily The Runners knock it out again, her beautiful synth beat and Robin Thickes vocals are on "Lay Back" a real feast for the ears! Turn "Murder Miami", "gunplay" and "Bossy Lady" make not my taste, these tracks are anything but successful. Overall still missing just the change of pace. The first comes in with "Face" because here Drumma Boy has again crafted a real banger. The beat comes to shove and Trina and Ricky Ross to indicate how well they match. That is precisely what you want to hear, really succeeded. In "Valley of Death" have DJ Toomp and TI (!) Built a really nice soulful sample in the thumping beat. Ross knows how to use it and gives one of his better ideas. "In Cold Blood" marks the end of the album and is one of the better songs, not for nothing that The Runners were responsible for the production. Again, one wonders why on the plate is so much piecemeal plan. Because it is different, "Officer Ricky" proved on multiple tracks. If you like Rick Ross, the board will certainly set anyway. However, all the other had fallen in here listening. Because with his now rather more gentle sound are some determined can not make friends. Therefore, the whole of me also gets 3 instead of 4 stars. Unfortunately am a little disappointed by the Boss.
