I use the headset on the PC mainly for control in post my digitized LPs.
The KH wears light and comfortable. The cable is, without the extension, long enough to connect it to the rear PC port.
But I was upset because the sound was really unsatisfactory and wanted to return the part already.
Well yesterday I had the idea before I describe the KH here, critical trial heard-again.
This time but not on the PC, but in my relatively good investment.
I was surprised that suddenly the bass came clean and strong. From annoying heights nothing could be heard.
Spatiality and neutrality were absolutely satisfactory. Even by the often criticized lack of volume was no more talk.
Conclusion: Before you criticize a headset, you should give him the chance to play at a reasonably good investment.
A moderate onboard sound card or a smart phone should not be used as a sound source for such an assessment.
I have among other things a Stax electrostatic and other KH Sennheiser and AKG, so can roughly comparable.
The HD 439 is not a high-end headphones, which should be clear to everyone. But in its price range it is certainly recommended.
I just ordered a new sound card and am excited to see how so changed the KH-sound.
Addendum:
With the sound card ASUS Xonar DS sound is much better, the volume is also, thanks to built-KH-amplifier,
much stronger. One can tolerate full volume hardly still the signal stays clean and undistorted.
Very glad I am that I was able to eliminate the annoying background noise you normally hear when the KH
connects the PC front panel.
Now it's a real pleasure for me to listen to music with this headphone.
I am very satisfied with this combination and therefore now also give the full number of stars.
