Eager for discovery, curious to discover "Dynamite Drug Diamond", the critically acclaimed album, so I decided to get into this column with, I must admit, a touch of apprehension.
The first hearing left me a very good impression. The fear had turned into interest.
The music is melodic, varied, enhanced the feeling that considerable work has been done on production.
The recording was carried out by Clement Boss Hog Studio Decrock (Sin Cera, General Lee ...) and mastered at Digital Domain in Florida by Bob Katz (Sinéad O'Connor, Necrophagist, Gordian Knot ...)
Sound, powerful and balanced (the instruments stand out perfectly, the mix is perfect), is fully in line with the prevailing style and contributes to the positive feeling left by the initial listen.
Naturally, exploration continued at the discretion of other plays that confirmed that "Dynamite Drug Diamond" was indeed a high quality album!
The melodies are unstoppable, exciting; the compositions alternate energy and calmer times; voice (what a great job from Xavier and Fabien!) are very diverse, melodic to the flayed, through the screaming.
No violence here, just a dose of aggressiveness rather contained and often a palpable melancholy.
Some guests were invited on the album. Cyril Henon participates in a singing "In Loving Memories" in chorus that takes guts; Clement Decrock (also ex-drummer Lizanxia) on percussion and Jean-Claude SENOCQ trumpet bring more significant to "Hellissandur" already excellent composition to the base; cello Detrez Florence brings a touch of melancholy further on the beautiful instrumental "Roses Out Of Chaos", which closes "Dynamite Drug Diamond".
Inspiration, interpretation, generation ... damn what fun this album !!
To be honest with you, I never would have imagined much appreciate "Dynamite Drug Diamond" when I saw what style of music it was.
Punchy piece of introducing this opus ("Highway Encounter") to the very last second of the final compo, it is truly a great moment I spent with Tang. I do not hesitate to say that this cake is a marvel, rich, varied and constantly involved through its cool melodies.
"Dynamite Drug Diamond" is therefore to discover urgently!
