In the normal position it is stipulated in the instructions that the lamps are lit 20 seconds of day or night when it is not. So the sensor adjustment can be done at night. If you want bright lights and more than 20 seconds, I do not recommend this projector. If it is for a small yard just to facilitate your visit at night, no problem it is a good buy.
