What I did not realize is that the NUC is converting all audio formats to a basic stereo as that old TV supports nothing else. So it goes necessarily through the well Kanaan
So I bought a second Kanaan to use on my recent Samsung Smart TV that is connected to a bar without her headphones. The problem here is that I play my movies via smart Apps (Video Plex or Synology DS). And since the TV supports DTS, these apps do not convert sound ... Unfortunately for me, since it Kanaan may not turn properly converted to DTS Stereo ... NB .: I have not the problem to all movies!
It works by cons for all my videos and movies in Dolby (AC3), and for all what is played on TV since my Belgacom TV decoder (including channels like TF1 HD, etc ... as long as the TV is set to Audio Format = "PCM" - because it does not work at all if I set it to DTS Neo 2: 5.
NB .: My Samsung Smart TV is set out Audio = "Receiver" in the speaker parameters (I and the sound on both my sound bar connected HDMI-RCA and my headphones connected via Kanaan the optical output). If I configure otherwise, either the soundbar does not receive audio or it is the helmet (the optical output so) that gets nothing.
So mixed reviews, but I guess I had to understand this subtlety by reading the description "Getting uncompressed LPCM 2-channel load digital output"?

[EDIT] I bought another brand ... more NO problems. TF1 HD and SD (AC3) still pass, DTS also now passes and no substantive parasite when I'm in my Samsung Smart App ... there is a USB DAC Fiio D07
