The carriage consists of a base plate with threaded hole and a linear slide, both probably made of anodized aluminum. On the entire length of the slide a clean sticky rubber is attached on the side is a rough scale. In the two slots each have a locking screw with D-ring located on the bottom and snap rings from falling out. Centrally also a threaded insert for the usual diameter is inserted. The linear adjustment is either grossly manually by pushing / pulling or finer than the adjustment. The carriage can be fixed with a locking screw to prevent shifting. The screws are also made of metal with a knurled grip. The overall build is okay (well bonded, greased, everything is), but not overly so.
I bought the sled for macros and this is where unfortunately makes processing noticeable. The slide is not running clearance and tilted even marginally to the longitudinal axis. In addition, the teeth are too coarse to really in the millimeter range of 1: 1 to macro focus clean / adjust can. One must also correct the slide so always easy.
Summary: You get what you pay for. The slide is not bad, but also not really good. The price makes up for a lot, just really helpful is a budget, but conditionally suitable tool unfortunately not. Unfortunately, I lack the comparison to the much more expensive Novoflex devices.
