My little son delights and me too. I love the slightly outdated French Jules Verne and his optimism, his trust in man and science, his imagination. It's not a great read for anyone serious but is it reasonable to be too serious? In our disenchanted era, Jules Verne, it feels good! There are a lot of naivety also in the works of another era. Of course, Captain Nemo is not nice but it awakens the awareness of the injustices of colonialism. Of course, the long descriptions of the submarine areas are a bit outdated and boring, but a child has the right to turn these pages there
