For Sale:
Due to the low follow-up costs promised by the favorable cartridges I decided for this printer.
I do not print a lot - the aforementioned train tickets or maybe even a few texts's study. But I wanted a device that evenly also scan and copy can, just in case that one's needs times.
Ink:
I can safely say that the cartridges - albeit at low perceived value for money - not long suck and after about 30 pages of text up their mind.
In addition, it is not possible to print in black and white when the color cartridge is empty, which is obviously intended by the manufacturer and possibly also as with other devices work that way.
Software:
I had (on Mac) no problems with the installation of the supplied "KODAK AiO Home Center" and the drivers.
The program is used for scanning and it is relatively simple to use.
The unique feature of the face of various problems is not, however.
Problems:
The printer transmits its color generally on a little streaky. The main problem is that every time there is a total failure in my relatively rare usage, as regards the quality of the printout.
Although the cartridges than two weeks of age and I printed last week, only one side, the text page at the next first use light blue (instead of black) and therefore printed very illegible. The next time it was suddenly still black, but only the top third of the page is printed, then the inking breaks off abruptly.
It's printing yes in the end always to the quality of expression and if the first page in three unsightly strip, the next in weak-light blue, and the third will be printed in choppy-pink, one can not speak of a satisfactory outcome.
I still do not know what exactly is the problem, but still works for the first use after a few days or weeks only times nothing. Sometimes it can be resolved by the recommended print head cleaning, including test page printing, but sometimes not, and then have new cartridges restores, even though the old first felt 10 sites were in use.
Such total failures are particularly problematic if you urgently need to print a train or plane ticket, or otherwise does not have time once to spend the next hour with the problem identification, until it at some point and for some reason goes back.
On the Kodak Support Page I have read that one should leave the printer turned on when unused for long periods (over 1 week) (?!). Perhaps fixes some of the diverse problems involved in this model, but that would be the electricity bill also not necessarily expect.
Conclusion:
I can never tell if he does not work or annoyed and even before I start it, because I know that it reproduces any problem every time before you finally can print a few striped black and white pages at the printer ,
Maybe it's the print head and is even a case of warranty, but I'll soon just give up the part and get me a model of the competition. More expensive cartridges or not - at least then there's less stress. The capacity of the cartridges also speaks not just for more effort and expense to invest in warranty claims.
Too bad.
