Once again, happy as a child

Big rock and pop concerts is to conceive nowadays a difficult proposition. Simply, it has never been, but more than ever the public in this segment expect today simply over an increased podium, a few colorful lights over it and a few good boxes that pump powerfully into the hall, which the musicians of the soul playing himself. Adequate stage show is now one of just de rigueur, even if the drives the ticket prices up, because this whole circus has to be paid, too.
Unfortunately, this meant that in many a show just like the soundtrack act of sheer Budenzauber the songs to a huge light, pyrotechnics and effects extravaganza that among all the Einspielern misses out on giant LED video walls and movable stage parts what should be the real cause of these events - the music.

For Udo Lindenberg it was from the beginning, already in his first major touring productions in 1978/79, a matter of course that a rock concert can be a revue - indeed must. Credible is the story that he financed his certainly not modest lifestyle solely with the revenues from record sales, because the tours, as successful as they were, made no economic profit. Too expensive was the entertainment of the traveling circus. The artistic return was for the higher!

So he has over 30 years experience in creating of illusions of stage dream worlds - and always the dream of even bigger show, the ultimate panic spectacle, but without letting this ever degenerated music only for staffage, he is finally on Rock ' n'Roll mission.
Still greater, even more complicated, he was for many years not possible, but even in times when many no longer had the panic president on the list, he booked usually the thickest halls - because otherwise the stage did not fit into it - even if the rooms at the concert were then often filled just half. No compromises, even in bad times, do not panic!

Now he is not only again fully there, he is more successful than ever! With his album "Strong like two" he was in 2008 for the first time on the 1, selling more than 800,000 units of the disc, more than any album before. Although Westlife today already seven times topped the album charts, Grönemeyer even eleven times and Maffay unassailable 15 times, yet Lindenberg the living legend and soon forty years of absolute epitome of German rock music, the godfather of all aspiring young rock bands. He took advantage of the new possibilities of the mega-success and graduated in the same year an already formidable "Strong like two - Tour" which conjured all until then by him to the stage surpassed.

Then 2011, the MTV Unplugged album and again a few shoveling it, back to 1 (for incredible eight weeks!) And now more than 1.2 million copies. The following, documented with this live album tour, crowns the former Linde plant. I was skeptical: No new studio album and a tour anyway? What's that supposed to be? A pure oldies show, a past managing, forming a pure legends measure?

Nothing like that, there were panic festivals, repeatedly played in all the major halls of the nation. A two and a half hour long show, which offered more than any fan could advance to wishlist write.
The cinematic scenes came out great. Armies of cameras caught the spectacle from all perspectives, and you float through the hall, is immediately adjacent to the actors on the stage and you can occasionally look in Udos moist little eyes - El Panico was touched - he can, he also deserves this Waiting !

And with all the wonderful trappings but the music is undoubtedly the focal point. The Lindenberg classic are as fresh as ever and have not played just down. The panic Orchestra burns, it is contagious, if you look into the faces of the musicians.
You sit in front of it, you see all these fantastic details on and above the stage, the interaction between the actors and hear powerful sound in a perfectly aligned belt and would be just like a child again. This combination of human authenticity and gigantic show is unique; usually there are concerts in only one or the other.

A few weeks after the Tour Udo Lindenberg was 66 years old and inevitably one thinks of the other major Udo and the fact that the matter needs to have "the older, the better" obviously something to do with the with the first name: Udo L. acts today fresher than twenty years ago. Stay sharp and focused and with visible enjoy what he is doing, everyone and more so each kissing the him or coming closer to the stage as his arms are long, it actually seems so: With 66 is long not end!

The album can be wonderfully well enjoy without image, so is very clear that at all show the playfulness and originality have not suffered, many fresh Solis, thrilling live arrangements characterize the set. With picture is it a feast for the senses (well, for the taste buds you still need a fresh drink).

The so-called "Zeppelin Sky Box", so the deluxe edition is, then of course the ultimate. She is really very large extent, contains two DVDs and two CDs in addition four almost Poster great photos and an opulent booklet and is solely their dimension because a looker. However, a bit too expensive, because I buy the album in the normal 2CD + 2DVD- issue, you've spent less than a third. Whether a large box, the four giant pictures and a large-size booklet are worth more than three times the price, depends entirely on how bashing the fan's heart. Well, my rest and I do not regret the investment.

After "Strong like two - Live" and "MTV Unplugged - Live from the Hotel Atlantic" is "I do my thing - The Show" is now already the third live album due. This was inevitable, it would have been not to forgive, this tour is not appropriate for posterity documented (apropos which appeared already in October 2012 filmic documentary about the tour "with Udo Lindenberg on Tour - Germany in March 2012" is additionally recommended).
