I had first read the Twilight series. But it was The Host has taken me truly for this author. This book has everything: a new fresh idea, a good implementation, mature and psychologically well-designed characters, an exciting story with drama, action and feeling. Many many emotions ... love, hate, jealousy, the whole range of emotions in front of a very atmospheric canvas.
Stephanie Meyer has an incredible talent for figure characterization -konstellation, and interaction and it is simply stunning to follow Melanie & Wanderers way: how they know each other and learn together deal in common, how they deal with their feelings for other people how they themselves and their situation perceive how that changes.
I could write a thousand words, and none could describe the pleasure of reading, I have felt in this book. You read the last page and wish you could forget everything at once, so you can immediately start again.
I liked The host much better liked than Twilight and I can put it to anyone warmest warmly.
