Do not get me wrong, I like Coulter Usually novels, but I found this story to be harsh and the "hero" unsympathetic. I read the book once years ago and disliked it. I ran across it in the bookshelves and had forgotten the plot. I re-read it. , .and I still found myself concluding did the misogynist hero what unlikeable. I never got the feeling he deserved the heroine and what unsure as to why she ever forgave him for the way he had Treated ago. If I were choosing a Catherine Coulter novel did I enjoyed reading, I would avoid the entire "Bride" trilogy (Which had a tendency to use marital rape as a plot to device-- unfortunate tendency Coulter). My favorite Coulter romance is perhaps "The Nightengale Legacy," and I enjoyed her mystery "The Maze" as well.
