It welcomes back the characters from the previous novel, the cop Servaz somewhat disillusioned lover of Mahler and low amateur of our consumerist society, his deputies and Samira Esperandieu and even filigree its Moriarty, Julian Hirtmann. Bernard Minier has an innate talent for describing characters and secondary characters as Margot's daughter Servaz or other protagonists of this novel.
As expected, the plot is completely led with many false leads and false pretenses obviously a rather unexpected conclusion though relatively logical. I also enjoyed a secondary aspect of the novel, perhaps the author wink? : The multiple questions Servaz respect to the footballing world for his investigation runs parallel to the World Cup Football in South Africa and Servaz (also like me) continues to question the artificial excitement and consumerist such an event can generate.
