First a statement on Amazon: Thursday evenings breaks my phone ... since I had already flirted with the E2370, I have ordered it by overnight Express on Amazon. On Friday at 9:00 to get to the office, because the package had been delivered - perfect! Could not be better!

Before one is concerned with buying a E2370, you should ask what expectations one places on his cell phone and what it can do anything to. Therefore, to assess the E2370 negative because it has not things that have never and nowhere promised is very suspect.

The E2370 is not a king equipment, but it will not be ... it is rather a "back to the roots" phone and probably also in the truest sense of the word.
Its strength lies in the discipline that is neglected by many manufacturers and make a good phone in my eyes: You can use it very well and very long phone calls.

The voice quality is very good. As spokesperson for one will be very well understood (also on the internal hands-free device which indeed is not of course). The sound can be heard clearly and precisely - the volume of the speaker is, however, regulated by the call via the central control pad. A rocker on the side I would have found logical, but this is matter of habit.

Reception problem I could not observe, which I now have not portrayed me to test in the deepest Bavarian Forest and my mobile operators not necessarily prone to dead spots.

The connection via Bluetooth has with all devices that I need to work right away: both PC and headset were coupled within seconds. Also my factory-fitted VW handsfree device in the car immediately recognized the E2370 and the zickt ever, depending on mobile phone manufacturers like rum.

My cell phone is - next to my laptop - my main work machine and I only have a simple request to this device: It has to work when I need it. The phones also need current times, have even now I understood, but the Samsung teaches me obviously just something else. Since the last battery charge I have about 5 hours on the phone, it was about 10 h coupled via Bluetooth with other devices, and one way or another gimmick that you tried so when new has a cell phone (eg 1 hr on the network to surf see if you can reach and read such sites as Google or Wikipedia - yes, it is, however rudimentary - for the "emergency" suitable) and the battery light has been moved no bar ... oh yes, I'm sure the various network operators will not offer this phone because this handset it creates a voice flatrate in completely new dimensions to lead.
While I, after three days had any other phone I have ever used in the charge, because not even shrugs this Samsung batting ... or the battery indicator. Slowly she is in me a sense one I never knew when a cell phone: I do not look more anxiously at both the battery and ask myself whether the battery the next call probably still hold out.
All owner of this E2370 to remember well where the power supply is and how it is connected to the phone, because all too often you do not need it ... not that one later the question arises, where is the tank?
I do not know whether the 67 days stand-by, the yes Samsung is applying, be achieved with the included 2000 mAh battery; with my calling habits which is very unlikely, but my expectations were already exceeded.

From the look and feel we must not expect too much: It is a plastic housing with a flexible keyboard mat that feels like a cross between plastic and rubber. However, the unique service and the well-defined pressure point of the keys does not diminish.
Everything is processed very clean and makes a robust impression. The housing carries but (probably due to the plastic) an advantage in itself: In spite of the dimensions of the mobile phone and the size of the battery, it is not really heavy compared to other phones. I was the first "In the hand take" very surprised and compared to a Nokia Classic something it feels like a feather (the feel of course is very different).
Very strange, I found this Eyelet on the upper back of the phone, and especially the size of the appear my oversized.
In everyday life, this eye is but extremely practical, since you can thread any one carabiner keyholder (lanyard) there. Extremely useful if you want the sport (in my case, mountain bike) take only the essentials and his freedom of movement would not be restricted by a mobile phone in your pocket. So far, my phone always disappeared in a saddlebag and I had every time the fear that comes from a fall off.
In short, it will not win a beauty contest with me and will certainly not the cause "Habenwollen factor" in others.

Operating the menu is logical, if one is willing to adjust to something new. This is my first Samsung mobile phone and now I did not find that this phone provides an unsolvable tasks. To my great joy can be the ringtone also provided with a rising volume (which creates not even Apple) and you can individually for each profile the vibrating alert on, off or to switch.

The display is sufficiently sized and beautifully clear and bright. If no wonder things a la iPhone 4 or whatever else you'd expect, you will not be disappointed.

The Samsung software (which you must load as 150 MB file from the Internet and MS Windows only support) is very user-friendly and easy to use. The transfer my contact details as * wab file (Outlook Express) was uncomplicated.
Since it also supports full Bluetooth use, you need not necessarily a USB cable.
The included manual is a joke ... fortunately one does not need it, because actually everything is self-explanatory.

Central points of criticism this mobile phone are, in my view:

No support for microSD cards larger than 2GB - which is certainly not up to date and with an internal memory of 5MB witty need such a card if you want to use the internal MP3 player or want to make more than one photo. Luckily I had even a 1 GB microSD card that has been detected directly.

The camera with VGA resolution would either omit or to equip them with a timely resolution. So that is a compromise between poverty and misery. I knew it before and also know how many photos I have taken with cell phones, which were equipped with much better cameras ... I can well do without it.

PC software must be downloaded from the Internet.

Samsung own connection system of power supply, headset and other accessories. Although this is from an entrepreneurial point of view of course, but does not have to be.

The FM radio has no RDS and works only with the headset is connected - that you do not necessarily need a good radio reception a headset, prove other phones.

When the keypad lock, this must be deactivated before you can turn on the flashlight - it's absurd for me, because the flashlight can be turned on only by a few seconds long press on the button. So I have to long press the button to disable the key lock and then again for a few seconds the button for the torch for a few seconds. In addition, I feel that in spite of a flashlight built LED (?) As very funzelig and an undefined light cone. For quick orientation, the very bright display is sufficient.

Does not support Apple Mac OS (or other operating systems other than Windows). This ripple other handset manufacturers now very confident and reliable.

No UMTS - a shame ...

No GPS, no compass, no altimeter, ... - especially a shame because it would be in an "outdoor mobile phone" a meaningful supplement and the Samsung B2700 (unfortunately nowhere available) that anything was possible. An SE C702 can indeed (almost) everything, but who had such a thing in use for a few weeks time, the definition of familiar "unusable" and its SE technicians by their first names.

Conclusion:
Who decided for himself that he needs a cell phone, what can and also increases the envy factor in the sidewalk cafe, which should stay away from this phone.
Those looking for a mobile phone, to make it what it was invented, namely telephones reliable and write one or two SMS while not permanently crying out for his charger, which can not go wrong with this E2370, if he can live with the limitations ... and at the price it is unbeatable.

After extensive use, I know now the limitations of batteries 1 week he holds by, with intensive use and Bluetooth always on.
The reception quality is superior: In the Alps, the Samsung had still received was during the SE C702 my company already exited (and the battery in the search for a network called empty). The voice quality was ok in areas with poor supply ... smaller dropouts there was from time to time. Dirt and moisture on the Alps Tour made the E2370 from nothing. Otherwise, I am happy about the easy handling with the large keypad and angry about one or the other setting in (the recipient of a new SMS menu can not "simply" can be selected from the Phone Book, but the TelBook must only in an intermediate step be selected).
