I had ordered (MarketPlace not) as it was the unit directly from Amazon there directly in stock. Delivery took 4 working days after ordering, so still in the frame. Unfortunately, I discovered while unpacking that this is probably a question of a returns: The packing was a bit torn and the cable was only loosely folded. It was all but complete and functional. After downloading and installing the latest software from the manufacturer's Web site, I started with the calibration: I use a dual-monitor system with two identical UltraSharp monitors from Dell and graphics card from Nvidia. After the wizard through the "easy" mode came the disillusionment: a monitor a distinct reddish, the other green. It was even much worse than as factory setting. The function for tuning both monitor was ineffective. Even the change of different options in the software (LUT, ADC, man. White point, brightness). Unfortunately, all to no avail. Had then the support of X-Rite contacted and the problem described, that it seems impossible a same (color) to achieve representation on the two identical monitors. In response, I only got the all FAQ's from the website sent as pdf - in English, German version of this there is not fact! To my question was discussed at all. Even so the problem could not be solved and should proceed to a further response as I wait until today ... The fact that the software is in operation always more memory approved (Win7), as mentioned in some reviews, I can confirm. The "latest" software is also already more than 2 years old. If you look at the identical i1 Display Pro in you will notice that this merhmals annually receives updates. And the ColorMunki software is certainly great need of improvement. After much research on the internet I came across the free software solution "Argyll + dispcalGUI" encountered. The operation is of course more complex and requires some time to learn and especially acquisition of background knowledge. But that I was finally able to achieve outstanding results. There is virtually no visible difference, the colors are natural and balanced. Furthermore, I have calibrated and profiled two notebooks so: the same as my desktop system. And most important: the result is reproducible. Conclusion: The ColorMunki Display is undoubtedly intended for beginners who want to achieve without background knowledge or a lot of adjustment work with a one-click solution, a useful result. And since the device has, quite clearly failed due to software! So it was not possible to perform a reproducible calibration. The hardware has potential, no question. But for the targeted audience, it is definitely not suitable because there is no self-consistent results can be achieved. The positive reviews I explain the fact that these people have probably calibrates only one device so and so lack the direct comparison. Perhaps in so bring a totally disguised monitor back roughly "in line", but nothing more.
