Personally, I've played the game about 20 hrs. And have to say that Ubisoft has shown very little courage to innovation. One would Watchdogs check off almost as Assassin's Creed clones. That's not even necessarily bad ... However, WD has in my view not the density of the story and character development, which has achieved a AC2. Does not even tearing me away is the Mission Design: I feel constantly to do the same. I can not say that to me is not fun to infiltrate CTOS bases or to dive any opponent afterwards - but Creative Mission Design looks quite different! Too bad also that is actually shot up by something like the OpenWorld principle and somewhat superfluous. While GTA V missions 'out of the ordinary life' can start out and you are constantly 'in device' in the rest of the game, there are at WD plain old 'driving to point XY to grab your mission from ...' principle , That too is not bad but not courageous, creative or particularly revolutionary.
The graphics are not the rudimentary for me, what I expect from Next Gen. If I Battlefield 4 look at myself (I am absolutely not BF4 fan! I despise the game for its story mode and its bugs!) Look and the details, the dust, the textures and / or water effects, then loses watchdogs for me in every respect , Even GTA V is on the older consoles better graphically by a mile! Los Santos at night is almost indistinguishable from real life ... Clear ensure PS3 and 360 for slurred textures. The hardware draws GTA V just down. But graphically and from the attention to detail here that is better by a mile for me.
Overall, I must say that WD entertains me. And that's happens to be the main thing. A nice touch the game in my opinion is not, however. Aiden remains opposite a Ezio, Jason Brody (Far Cry 3) or opposite the main characters in GTA V rather pale. The Story of WD has to definitely hide behind mentioned games. Compared to a Last of Us had a WD with respect to these points in my eyes not even a right to exist. The mission design is not particularly, OpenWorld principle is not really exploited and the vehicle-control is weak. Watchdogs benefits from its hype, which arose from fake photos and videos, from the fact that currently there is nothing in terms of top titles going on. The constant comparison with GTA V makes probably also for a hype, even if WD this will not even begin to do justice.
What the hell ... As I said: The game maintains. It might have been a lot more out of it. Expectations were much higher (which has attributed to the publisher itself) and yet it is good. It is not a big hit and you will surely forget this first part as fast as once the first Assassin's Creed. Let's hope that Ubisoft makes a strong series from the sequels and keep what you have expected. Until then, you can spend some nice hours. In Chicago without that you really regret it.
CAUTION: The screen shots here of watchdogs are not original! They were nachgerendert of Ubisoft and do not match the graphics in the game!
