First principle clear: The device has been detected in my Windows 7 and 8.1 (64-bit) without problems and could also be controlled with the included software. The first recordings were very pleasant easy.
However, the weakness of the unit is the slow processing speed (guess!), By the - fast video sequences could not be recorded without error - at least for me. This is problematic especially when camcorder recordings or home videos from the old millennium, as you just hinbekommt no wobble-free shooting without a tripod.
If you have a quiet still image or very shallow movements that computing power of the stick apparently comes with yet, but in shaky scenes with a lot of movement or excessive push the stick produces only unbearable image disorders in which I already feared for the original material.
Have the unit again returned and bought with a capture card from Hauppauge, to finally save hoping no problems my VHS tapes.
