HARDWARE:
=======
The two plastic end panels are only fitted with an aluminum plate to maintain the aluminum look and are screwed with 2 black cross screws. When installing appears equal to the first point of criticism: the 2.5 "hard drive is not screwed and clamped with the end plates in the housing Due to the apparently large manufacturing tolerances sat in my case the 7.5mm high 2.5." -HDD Unfortunately loose and chattered audibly back and forth. This may be different with 9.5mm height with hard drives, but not just speaks for high quality workmanship.
GETTING STARTED
=======
Unfortunately the bad impression was confirmed also during commissioning. The supplied cable has either too long a Micro-USB connector, or the socket of the housing is too short - assembled the plug sticking out anyway little to inspire confidence by about half out. Windows 7 x64 realized the housing first without hesitation and tied the drive.
Unfortunately, then broke off then executed copy and backup operations frequently, because the drive from Device Manager flew. This behavior was particularly evident in slight wobbling of the cable, which apparently re-manufactured contact in some positions. But then transfer operations ran performant, and with my 1TB Hitachi hard disk with 7200 U / min with an average of about 80MB / sec and performant enough.
CONCLUSION:
=======
The case is processed modestly and in everyday life due to the problems described above, absolutely useless. I'll try with a higher-quality USB 3.0 cable in the next few days, but buyers rate specifically on it.
That the hard drive also quite loose rattling in the housing whose life might in any case unlikely to be beneficial.
PRO:
+ USB 3.0 connection
+ Brushed Alubody
Included + USB 3.0 cable
NEUTRAL:
Price = (with me about 16,50)
CONTRA:
- Processing
- HDD is very loose in the housing
- Loose connection to the USB port
- Supplied cable protrudes significantly from the short sleeve
