The prologue sets up the foundation of the novel explaining the evolution of the species of Psi that to eradicate violence of their society, decided to establish the Silence, a kind of collective brainwashing designed to erase all emotion .
When the novel begins, we learn that the Psi live with two other species they despise: Humans and Changelings. The HISP feel superior to other races because they are not slaves to their impulses and feelings and have developed special psychic powers, different between individuals. Their company works according to social levels and abilities and each Psi is connected to other members by PSINet, kind of internet web that allows them to share information and feed into energy.
Sascha young Psi, the daughter of a powerful counselor is different from those of its space. She feels feelings. Terrified at the idea of finishing in rehabilitation and be somewhat lobotomized, she hides with very powerful mental barriers. The day she met Lucas Hunter, the Alpha DarkRiver, his life is turned upside down.
I started reading this book with some suspicion, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that every time the story could have become boat and look like a lot of other novels of the same kind, the author enriched the characters and plot. Therefore, it becomes addicted to progressively playback.
Although the character of Sascha is not a real Psi (I can not wait to discover a true Psi in a love affair), the ambiguity of his personality keeps the reader in suspense. The character of Lucas is not original in its nature and its characteristics but it is endearing and sexy. The world depicted in the novel is original even if we find changelings and humans (portrayed in other novels). The species of Psi is intriguing and mysterious.
I could not stop my reading until the book was not finished. I'll get the second !!
