The thermometer is now for 3 months with me in use (used about 12 times) and so far I am very satisfied. Have to check for a short gourmet actions as steak but also many long jobs like Pulled Pork. In practice, the two temperature ranges are therefore meat temperature and oven temperature, for both can be simply a target temperature with and without Set alarm.
