The sound of the WH303 (earpieces) convinced me in every aspect.
Of course you can not expect miracles from the built-in speakers, but even here the sound is fully in order.
Processing affects overall extremely high.
The Zappin function that Sony has used already in the little "brothers" (W-Series), is VERY useful. Here, the title will be briefly alluded to a prominent part, and you can quickly see what song is currently playing.
There is now also a shuffle function that ;-) probably self-explanatory.
Of course you can also switch between the folders. Cheap products have this feature so often.
If you have already owned a player from the W-series, the operation is quite straightforward, even if the keys are arranged differently.
All others I rate at which (almost too brief) instructions to read accurately. Because the keys have multiple functions!
What I unfortunately could not be inferred from the manual, the water resistance of the player. The predecessors were even for swimming. That's certainly not the WH303. But I have therefore already contacted the Sony support and will resent their answer here.
Furthermore, it is not just a small headphones, but I would imagine that the earpieces are probably a bit small for so many. For me, with 08/15-ears, they are properly sized.
Small treats such as the Walkman icon lit (switched off), the unit values still on.
I think Sony wanted to address more eyes and ears, as your wallet, because a bargain is not the player. But the price-performance ratio is still ok.
Edit:
This was the swift response (on the same Saturday - that's high praise!) The Sony support:
"Unfortunately, the NWZ-WH303 is not waterproof and can take when operating in the rain or other contact with water damage. When used under these requirements can erlischen the guarantee if a moisture damage can be detected and thus in case of repair, these costs can be. "
Too bad. If the player at least somewhat less sensitive, he would be perfect for me. Despite this shortcoming, I give the WH303 full marks because it visually, tactile and auditory simple appeals to me and he really represents by its multi-functionality a little innovation.
