In the same vein as "The syndrome Copernicus", Henri Loevenbruck takes us to a frenzied pace in a race against time between an atypical inspector and a killer at very specific procedure. Without getting bogged down in overly long descriptions, the author clearly sets the scene and portrays his characters with finesse, which makes them all the more endearing. Historical references are numerous and accurate, it would almost read this novel with a handy search engine to conduct its investigation in parallel!
