I bought this novel, pushed by a poster touting his merits and evoking a writer of the caliber of Ken Follett. Alas, the sun does not shine as much as one would expect. Of course, reading is easy, fluid and pen you can easily take over the descriptions in the author's world. But that is sorely lacking in depth. One was like eating bun appetizing crust, but the crumb too rare. The characters are sympathetic, but their light is singularly lacking in weight (I give in redundant design). One has the impression, despite the ordeals that life under the reign of Louis XIV is a kind of journey into the land of Care Bears. So should we read? Yes you can. Without any difficulty. In case of tiredness or vacation soft, it's perfect. Otherwise, prefer the original to the copy: Ken Follett.
