Panasonic HX-A100E-K: A little light and a lot of shade

The camera takes great (film) images. I've tested both during the day (sun, clouds), and when darkness. The fact that it is waterproof, you can safely continue to film even in the rain.

Unfortunately, that's about the only concern that you do not have have. Degrees in the outdoor area - for which the unit's intended primarily to much proves what this camera relates to a disadvantage.
On the one hand, little is possible without technical auxiliary equipment. This should be observed. When I'm out in the field, I will typically bloat in the car or at home. Here you are but require at least be smart, because you set the camera sensibly without virtually no chance. What you should know. Those who do not phone, should stay away from the camera.
Furthermore, you need to load an external device / power connector to the battery. Particularly when camping holiday this is not what I imagine. For the wilderness the camera is therefore less suitable. Who has the opportunity every day to charge the internal battery, which is perhaps not perceive as lack. I have sometimes a stronger battery or -what would be even more meaningful: may need a replaceable battery. So unfortunately I had to partially abandon filming, because the battery was too weak and I just did not have time the battery for 5 hours to hang on the wall socket.
Also, I found the camera quite uncomfortable (you can make the control panel by the arm and the lens behind the ear). Unfortunately, it was sitting in my not very good and I always felt that it bothers, slips or annoying. I think that every sport camera as a foreign body has a certain nerve factor, but just the operating element I found too big and too heavy.
I have not tested the camera for water. It is waterproof to 1.5 meters. For me personally, it would therefore be difficult to use for snorkeling or swimming. However, it is great that they can continue to use even in heavy rain.
Unfortunately, the lens can not be closed or otherwise unprotected. My camera has the mountain biking so far survived, but selbstverstänlich is not. It can go cycling ever kicking up stones etc.
I had often times fear for the device and that can not be the point of it.

Many things could be improved. I wonder if Panasonic nachbessert in succession models - I would highly recommend this model is not the above mentioned reasons. One should very carefully consider whether the part is suitable for personal activity. Many fall out:

- Swimming / Diving not working well
- In need of sports where sitting all FEST I would recommend the part only conditionally
- Since the lens is relatively unprotected, you have in sports where rockfall threatens watch
- If you have several days in the "outback" you could have problems with charging the battery
- Without Smartphone practically unusable

---> There are totally for me too many restrictions. That should not be at a sports camera ... why me, despite good results film unfortunately only 3 stars.
