Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (computer game)

Customer Review

Well here; after several months in Eorzea it's time for me to draw my bow and move on.
Overall, FFXIV: ARR was a good gaming experience however under excessive simplification and lack of community perspectives on the part of Square will finally complete the low motivation that I had to continue the adventure..

I'm not here to get into a full description of the game, many sites doing very well. I'll just share my feelings.
If I started the game without any specific expectations, it is clear that the world of FFIV was a good surprise (stories, some mechanisms & Co). It is obvious that the redemption of Square opposite its title could not pass that by inspiration that competition could give rise to meet the many people as possible. Only wanting to please the one and the other, Square does things by halves and not always good.

I think everyone should play at their own pace. That said, I also think that we should not pull down everything and anything under the pretext that it is not accessible to all. He is not talking about fundamental rights and necessary for the existence of each, but of founding rules of a game. We give their all, it has the means, we try to excel and possibly whether a mechanism is bad it is adjusted.
Unfortunately, it's not that practical Square. Aware that a majority of its players can not get in the cages, Square prefer enlarge them while increasing their ability rather than encouraging them to excel.

I think this is one of the major problems of this game: By trying to please everybody, we did anything.
Thus the primordial is obtained which are extremes that name (the Palme Far from the scams definitely returning to Leviathan (yes it is a fun fight, but not difficult)); of Brutal dungeons that in addition to being recycling have brutal that the name also (Brutale Palm fraud returning to Brayflox). Quest suites for bland relic, without any difficulty. Worse, they are a deadly bored, true compendium of various recycling (small dungeons, Aléas low levels, intensive farming ...). Mechanisms criticized revived day: Weekly currency.
In short, everything is done to satisfy as many players as possible, starting with those who do not have a significant playing time. The consideration being that the activity is quickly transformed into "tasks".

The only content with a relative difficulty is Bahamut. Only if new floors (Meanders) have some new and interesting mechanisms, they are quickly assimilated and have some redundancy. They soon echo with the first stages and it quickly falls into this routine subjected to weekly ID. Which brings me to my second criticism: the social aspect.

In an effort to satisfy everyone, nothing like that to apply to individual players. Regardless, fleshing for all is not bad and one can understand that a player says "solo" can claim a content too. I never thought to play an MMO meant "obligation" to play with others, but the "possibility to play with others.
However again Square is not in the shade and pushes his players to play "alone". For example, if you collect horses, one of them is obtained with "honors" points not awarded players encountered in dungeons that will only come if and only if we got one in the dungeon (not in group).
There is no dungeon requiring more than 8 players; ie it is impossible to play with a good part of his free Company (equivalent guilds, legions etc. in FFXIV). There is no dungeon 4 with sufficient difficulty to justify the game in Free Companionship. It has the Crystal Tower which is played 3x8 players but impossible to enter more than 8.

The upcoming ads for the 2.3 patch going in this direction. It promotes the individual rather than the collective. Just play to understand it; all those people who fail to fall Titan Far do not succeed because of individual errors mainly (their own or others'); those who do not fall T5 today is also for reasons of individual errors. The slightest error penalizes individual group. To remedy asked nerves rather than letting players challenge their skills with the risk of seeing them go for good. Even their front in the 2.3 patch, which claims to be a group of players will be 3x24 Individual reality ...

Consequence of the international game oriented solo play: execrable behavior. If you do not have much free Company warn you of suites: you will meet a lot of players rude, insulting, disrespectful. In part because of the cross-server dungeons that seem to legitimize stupidity. The language barrier is not always easy either, despite the translator. And of course this behavior is also linked to the ease of play, these unbearable farming and bashing that swell all, why people go faster to again and again.

In short, this is just my opinion. I came to this game without waiting and I'm leaving with some frustration because it actually has aroused in me more interest in me than I expected.
If you have a low weekly game time, you do not plan on playing more than a few months, you are not looking great difficulties, that you love the Final Fantasy universe, that you love the individual game etc then this is the game for you.
