I grew up with Pennac. I started by Kamo, then I attacked the MALAUSSENE saga. He is an author for whom I have great affection and he appore lot, both by the freedom he knows infuse ("Like a novel") by its style.
However, I struggled to finish this work. Admittedly, this is an excellent exercise in style. Certainly, one embarks on this mixture of memories, fictions, fantasies ...
But without being disappointed, this book gave me the impression of a ... hammock. It's comfortable, it is well, it is a place for reflection, but once we got out, the experience is closer to the dream of reading.
In this, the aim of the author is clearly met. But the hammock swing améne to a certain fatigue, and exercise in style, a quasi-experimental approach to literature. What may put off many readers, especially those who rarely read.
In conclusion, this is a book I am proud to have, for whom I have affection and deep conviction to return one day, but I do not recommenderai to non-expert readers.
