The K-5II is an insanely great camera! Others have said before with a lot about the technology, I can keep it short since. Therefore briefly the highlights:
- The feel: The camera is much smaller than my Nikon, and also a little easier. I always thought it was stupid, but it is in his hand as if it were individually adjusted. I have big fingers, and it's fun to take pictures with the K-5II. The controls are positioned perfectly logical and somehow better achieved than with my Nikon.
- The software: intuitive to use, super clearly structured quick sets, easy to understand menus.
- The sensor: Only 16 MP? Nonsense! This sensor I know from the D7000 and is IMHO still the best APS-C sensor there is. For more resolution I need full-format and high-end lenses.
- The image quality and hardware - so far: Also very good. I would say the auto focus with Nikon at eye level, felt you notice no difference, although I find this screwdriver mechanism already funny. That was the only thing I could get even funny, but it works just as quickly and accurately ...
All in all: Do not worry, I'll stay with my Nikon. But when I again soon meet a Pentaxianer, then with more respect. And if someone asks me for a very good amateur camera I will recommend the K-5II. Had I never thought!
