The Sony DSC-HX10VB is a compact camera from the upper price segment and has some really interesting features to offer:
18.2 Megapixel sensor
16x optical (!) Zoom
Panorama function
manual mode
large 7.5cm screen
GPS receiver
Image Stabilizer
Full HD Video
etc. '
The camera comes in a compact box. In addition to the camera itself, a hand strap is included, a battery (will be loaded into the camera), charger, USB cable, manual. A bag is not available in unfortunately, but would certainly have been in the selling price with it (Article cent in production)
My ExtreMemory 32GB SDHC memory card has accepted the camera without a murmur.
Haptics: The camera looks at first glance with value and well made. Fully extended, the lens has to be some play, but is probably the construction owed (16x zoom in such a compact housing is mMn already an engineering feat). The display dominates the back of the camera does not seem too thanks to well thought-out controls.
The pressure point of the dial is not as good as it could be and that may possibly lead to incorrect operation (the problem I had in the beginning more often)
Operation: Operation is slightly out of hand, the menus are logically structured and self-explanatory 'in the instructions I have not until now have daily.
Image Stabilization: That reminds me of just one word: Pops! Whether when shooting at full zoom used (at least 380mm focal length when one converts to KB format) or when filming 'the stabilizer manages to make the picture quietly impressive manner. I have had at an air show virtually no waste due to camera shake when shooting at maximum zoom and when shooting (also much at max. Zoom) are nice and soft movements, even if this goes slowly. Clear are the electronic image stabilizer limits but which are pushed by the Sony clearly backwards.
Camera modes: In addition to the mandatory automatic programs such as landscape, portrait, group photos, Lächelautomatik (with adjustable sensitivity), the Sony to my am also a true manual mode, where ISO, aperture and shutter speed can be set manually. That's not as easy on the hand like a reflex, makes the serious photographing significantly more creative.
Lens: The focal length range extends (calculated on small picture format) from 24mm to 384mm) which on the one hand already genuine wide-angle and means 'around the top' allows the use of distant subjects. The image quality does not suffer at different zoom levels, depending on the zoom position and being photographed can optical distortion (pillow or tons effect) are visible 'that is by design due to the large focal length range, and even at Super Zoomes for SLR the case.
Picture quality Photo: The display shows the photos look contrasty and color strength, thanks to 18-megapixel resolution also remains tidy reserve for subsequent trimming (in the jargon also 'crop' called). Also on the PC make the photos a good figure, you go, however, in the 100% view shows the camera like swallows details (with hair very visible), which is probably on too much noise reduction (which even at small Iso Numbers attacks) suggests. This detailed image areas sometimes act mushy - a pity.
Convince the contrasts and colors on my color-calibrated monitor, the dynamics of the camera (ie the differences between light and dark) is in a good area 'top.
Picture quality Video: I have for the shots during an airshow in Rotenburg (Wümme) made all settings at maximum, and what I got to see later on a 42 'Full HD TV, blew me away. Details without end (even with the Maximization of the optical zoom), thanks to image-stabilized when panning and slow going smoothe movements. This image has beautiful colors and high contrasts. Just awesome.
The zoom motor is barely audible in quiet passages, with normal ambient noise amplifier it falls not on. The sound is also good, the camera automatically and reliably regulates down the sensitivity, so that it is almost never too ugly distortion.
I would claim that the one who buys this camera can give an extra camcorder (unless the special Featuers are required)
Conclusion: Whether as a main camera or 'camera always with you' for SLR users: The Sony can and what to really small space. Video recordings are in my eyes almost perfectly, however, the photo quality often comes off due to the sometimes present vagueness, yet delivers photos that are likely to make the average person more than satisfied.
