Construction and equipment:
There is nothing great to say to build: Unpacking stand, set up TV and fix it with 4 screws - done! Is spite of the size alone. But since I have installed the TV equal to a swivel wall bracket, the stand was used only for the first test and then packed immediately.
Worth mentioning is the long time it takes for the television, until he is ready. It takes an eternity. I guess the times at least. 15-20 seconds.
The interior of the (cable) network connection was easy because it automatically recognized the network configuration thanks to DHCP. Nevertheless, I have assigned to the TV, a fixed IP address.
When tuning I selected the full version. That takes a little longer, but he found more channels (digital, analog and radio). Sorting this transmitter works very simply and clearly! Here, however, falls on the long term, the "zap" the needs of the TV between the transmitters.
Because I want to not afford a cable HD, so I'm relying on the analogue cable signals and have only public broadcaster as digital or be even HD signal. All private broadcasters and ORF 1 & 2 come to an analog signal.
This leads me to my next point:
Image Quality:
As long as a digital signal (digital TV or other digital source (HDMI, USB, etc) is the image quality really excellent (for this price range).
On my machine I have only very slight clouding in the corners, and they fall on even when a scene takes place in total darkness.
Speaking of Darkness: The black level of the device is really surprisingly good! Sure you can with an LCD not as a black obtained as in a plasma device, still black and black !! Outstanding!
Since I can darken completely my room, the Grundig 46 VLE 7130 runs practically only in ECO mode because it is bright enough and, moreover, power saving :-) I have the (very extensive) setting values (especially saturated) turned back because I it may rather naturally.
Schlieren movements I really could not find so far (for digital signals). In the analog signal you have to accept here already relatively heavy losses. Here is the picture (especially in fast-moving scenes and despite 95% signal strength and quality) rather bad. The look on my old tube 10x better. Of course, you get used to, but if you switch to an analog signal at Grundig ARD HD, then the difference is already extreme. Otherwise, the TV does its main job, representing TV content, really good! Also the upscaling of "only" SD content looks good (prerequisite is again a digital signal).
Other Features:
The main reason why I bought the Grundig 46 VLE 7130 was its DLNA certification. That means I can without annoying hard disk on TV in my entire network library access. Basically, he makes things well, but there are also some criticisms here. As soon as a video file can present (approximately greater than 3GB via LAN are not pros and rewound and there can be no sound and subtitle track can be selected This is very shame. Unfortunately, this can not be so easily fixed by a firmware update, as this can only perform a Certified Grundig dealer via USB Stick / Can. Per USB playback go these features strangely. That is, however, if I have a film in English want to see, so I have to copy it until almost to the HDD and then can play on TV it first.
Also no DLNA playback option is given, if you want to record a TV signal in the background with USB recording. It says either TV or DLNA content. Otherwise, the playback of 1080p mkv content is easily and thanks gigabit network also almost smooth. Here and there there times Mikroruckler in playback (which I have not, however, on my MacBook Pro, so it must be on the TV set are), but not stand out. This is now whining at a high level.
The USB recording function is working properly and since there hardly anything to complain about.
The inputs via HDMI function properly, both the XBOX-signal and the signal when I connect my MacBook. To play great on such a large TV and work!
The sound is surprisingly good for a flat screen, cinema feeling coming here but not to, but I have always hanging over Toslink the TV to my surround system.
A nice feature is, I find that the TV durchschleift the digital audio signal, ie the sound comes via HDMI from my XBOX 360 and the TV transmits it then via Toslink to my AV Receiver. Excellent! So I'm off another optical input on my receiver.
The remote control is a bit strange, but overall well thought out and has a good and uniform pressure point.
Summary:
Positives:
++ Image quality
+ 4 HDMI inputs
+ Upscaling of SD content
+ Optical Audio Output
+ No streaks apparent
+ Device
+ Meaningful, easy to understand menu
Neutral:
o USB Recording
o long switch
o va long changeover of digital to analog transmitter
Negatives:
- Play analog TV content
- DLNA (due to lack of roundworms and audio features) (is, as I said, whining at a high level, the average film viewer will hardly disturb)
