Now just in a pure HTPC counts not necessarily size and speed,
but rather the power consumption. Volume is yes in SSD's not an issue anyway.
Therefore this time I added myself 2Stück 64GB SSD's from Sandisk, unmixed
ITX HTPC with an AMD E-350 and an Intel Core i3 3225th
The delivery was only the SSD with folder. Not much really.
But so far I have had only Samsung more here.
Important for a SSD is this:
With Windows 7 or Windows 8 is always the "Alignment" correctly set during installation,
since there is then no problem, if you from the outset been the AHCI mode in the BIOS
has activated.
Now If you want to play an image copy of an existing hard drive to the SSD,
you should make it, that the alignment is set by the backup / recovery program properly.
Acronis True Image supports the current version in any case.
More can be found on one of the major search engines under the two key words:
"SSD + Alignment"
The installation and commissioning was absolutely no problem with two PCs.
After a period of 7 days with partial 24-hour operation I can so far
nothing negative to say.
On the subject of life so far I can not say much, the oldest SSD is with me
"OCZ Vertex 3 120GB with". The running virtually without problems for 2 years, there was initially
was with the firmware of OCZ in connection with the Intel P6 chipset problems, but the
then corrected after about half a year.
Speed is not magic, especially in smaller SSD's with less than 120GB.
Compared to a HDD, a SSD is faster in any case, especially
silently and normally also power efficient.
Who thinks that this Sandisk SSD a lame snail, should the next
SSD purchase pay more attention to the "IOPS" rather than the price.
Conclusion:
For the price of just 50 euros currently the Sandisk is in my opinion a
right price / performance Shit. Suitable this SSD is best for
HTPC and office computer. For power hungry PC's this SSD is less suitable,
because it is too slow there.
Benchmark geeks win so definitely no trophy.
