:: Installation ::
The Tap switch comes in a small box not much bigger than the switch itself and can be integrated easily into an existing Hue system. A precondition is a starter kit including Bridge and Hue app. This can be found via the menu item and install the switch settings. This is done virtually automatically after a few seconds and it is ready.
:: Features ::
The Hue Tap switch does not require a battery or accumulator and is purely activated by the kinetic energy of the pressure of a button. That's great from an environmental point of view, but reduces the use of approximately 50,000 circuits (according to Philips). Depending on the frequency of use of Tap holds so no less than 10+ years or even more or less (can indeed any himself calculate).
It consists of a total of 4 buttons are sensibly numbered with points 1-4. Each button can be assigned a scene on the Philips App. It does not matter to which scene it is and even double assignments would theoretically be possible.
In my case, I let off all the lights under the 1 key. Button 2 on all the lights in the apartment in a strongly dimmed state (for when you come home and all lights should be off). Since the tap is in the living room off the keys 3 and 4, a read-scene and a television scene.
:: Operation ::
There is a light switch, you could say there is not much to say about the operation, but it should not go unmentioned that the tap has to be pressed relatively strongly to respond. Encountered in each key rather early on a slight resistance which must be overcome. This seems to generate the kinetic energy that is required to sufficiently generate electricity.
What speed am extremely fascinated with the tap works. In contrast to the app, which noticeably takes a moment has been to the scene Bridge and lamps passed, the Hue bulbs respond when Tap immediately. Sometimes I have the feeling not quite hold the button as the lamps are already jumped in the new scenes. This is extremely positive!
:: Conclusion ::
The Hue Tap Switch is a perfect complement to Hue system. About the price you can discuss, because there are bulbs for the same, after all, one or two Hue Hue Lux, but he is in my eyes because of the independence of smartphone and tablet and the speed worth the money!
