Operation is perfectly thought out and very easy to everything you need is available for this purpose. The system start-up is very fast. I would like to highlight the Smart Capture mode, which before shooting during an adjustable time the level of play the loudest part, for example a piece of music is automatically adjusted, which also works very well. The purely manual level adjustment is also choice. For tunable instruments like guitar a well-functioning Tuner is the metronome function is of limited use, because it is retrieve only through headphones. SL-14 does not have the metal front of the SL-11, the plastic casing is still processed noble, fits comfortably in your hand, all keys have fixed pressure points and the service is perfectly ergonomic. The accessory was however reduced compared to SL-11 to the limit of what is reasonable. Included are just a clip to attach the recorder to horizontal or vertical bars, a well-padded bag that can accommodate but nothing else except the recorder, a greatly reduced version of the manual and a joke of a 15cm long USB cable. Nothing else, no software (Audacity is here a good free replacement), no CD, no windshield, no audio cable, no remote control (which costs more than 50) - all of which must be purchased separately if required, with LS-11 is however, it included as an accessory. Here Olympus might have to be a little more generous least.
