I use the adapter together with the "Belkin Mini DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort cable". The MacBook Pro then goes for example on a Dell U3011 the full resolution of 2560x1600 pixels, without the expensive Apple Dual-Link DVI adapter. Total cost No 20.
