Result:
- A not necessarily evident configuration but is relatively well documented in the forums.
- A standard wifi n that was sorely lacking in bbox. Also I use a samba server and it was previously impossible to play a movie in 1080p wifi, the problem is solved. The scope of Linksys is OK (better than the bbox though).
- I was surprised by the small size of the machine, it seems to be of good quality though. I do not like the design, but that's not why I bought it.
- The discounted price (38 euros and some) is really correct.
- I regret the fact that we can not install dd-wrt on it (but that is true of all the routers modems exept the WR54G), that said the interface is not so bad.
- The only real downside I would have to give it ... If you do not have a CD drive, you can not configure the machine! Indeed Connect Setup Software is no longer available online, despite much searching ...
I found myself with my very stupid -_- shuffle. Anyway I made a CD image with my server which is the only machine that have a CD player ... (dd command). I could then read the iso from my computer.
In short, a manipulation that is not necessarily accessible to anyone but personally suits me well! It replaces my bbox without any worries, I even have found that the flow is now fully stable, unlike before. And when we were doing on the lan bbox, it did not take all the 4 laptops and wifi experimenting disconnections and mounted frequent ping. This is no longer the case.
In short better than my Bbox.
