Packaging and Design:
The packaging is very simple and appealing. Unwrapped makes the speaker a very valued and thoughtful impression. The idea to incorporate the handle directly into the design I personally like very good. Despite the fact that all speakers made of plastic, it feels very high quality and will not crack or creaks when you touch it a little rough. I initially had concerns about the exposed wheel to adjust the volume that this could for example be shaky or spongy. However, this has not been confirmed. The wheel is secure and easy to operate pleasant.
Design Technically the speakers at mere contemplation looks very elegant, makes itself so very well both outdoors by the lake or in the park, as well as at home as a substitute for a music system.
Operation and sound:
The commissioning of the device is very simple. If you connect the speakers to the AC adapter, it can be seen flashing in the upper right corner of a status LED. This blinked first because of empty batteries red when pairing with a Bluetooth device then blue. Once connected, it glows steady blue. The function of the LED therefore is not very extensive, but well thought out and perfectly adequate.
A device via Bluetooth to connect (iPhone 5 and iPad Air) was within a few seconds by pressing the "pairing" button on the device. The speaker will be found immediately by the device and can be connected without entering a password. Very easy and fast!
Now you can listen to music through the speaker.
Sonically, the device has exceeded my expectations. He is more than sufficiently loud, perhaps even too loud for music enjoyment on the lake or in the park, because if you fully turned up on him getting even people in 50m distance from what the music with.
The sound is amazing for the design: very homogeneous and the basses are also tired, but of course not as powerful as with a real sub. Overall, however, a harmonious and soothing sound!
Battery terminals and special functions:
The BT5580 the battery can be more than excellent. After 5 hours at half volume on the lake there was no warning that the battery may be empty soon.
You can even switch the speaker via NFC which pairs easily with me and immediately worked (tested with a Galaxy S5). In addition, a connection via 3.5mm connector is possible to connect any MP3 player.
Unfortunately, the charging function via the USB port to the iPhone does not work if the speaker does not depend on the power supply, why this is so I do not know, because certainly the battery is sufficiently strong to the iPhone to load a bit, a pity!
Twins to the speaker using a smartphone, so you can use by pressing a button on the top as a speakerphone it through an integrated microphone. This worked without any problems, for me is not very important.
Overall I am very pleased with the speakers except for the shortcoming with the charging function and can recommend it unreservedly!
